Today’s high temperature was 33 degrees Farenheit. While nearing our home after an afternoon of running errands, we were shocked to see a man skiing on such a cold day. Skiing in Michigan in December isn’t such a rare occurrence, IF we’re talking about downhill or cross country skiing. The man we saw today was doing neither. This skier was on the lake. WATER SKIING. I don’t really know a lot about water skiing, so maybe he wasn’t as crazy as he seemed to me. Maybe he had some kind of equipment that would protect him from the cold or something (though his face was exposed.) I do know, however, that I was freezing my toes off while watching Rob hang our holiday lights outside. I can only imagine what it would feel like to fall into the water on such a day.
