Practically imperfect in every way. Start with a lot of silliness. Mix in some insecurities and a handful of awkwardness. Add a pound of naivety, innocence, and child-like wonderings. Blend well. Half-bake and top off with a sprinkle of imagination and dollop of dreams. It’s the recipe for me!

I feel like I have so much to do, and so little time to do it all. Rob’s parents’ condo is so clean compared to the mess I left here before heading to Florida. Every time I decide to clean it, something else comes up that’s either more important or more interesting. Though it’s pretty easy to find something more interesting than cleaning, I guess.
I dropped the boys off at school, sorted through two weeks of mail and e-mail, showered, ate lunch, paid bills, bought 80 lbs. of dog food, picked up the dog, bought dog shampoo, bathed the dog THREE TIMES, picked the boys up from school, went home, started cleaning, went back out to get dinner (take-n-bake pizza, yum!), made dinner (okay, baked a pizza), and finally started cleaning again. I deserve a raise.
I worked on my office/studio first, but as soon as I cleaned off the desk, I pulled out all my new supplies and started making jewelry. Then I started playing around with names for the new line. Shame on me. BUT, one could say that making jewelry is important since I’m trying to get serious about this business thing, right? I told my web guru that I want to launch the finished site on June 1. I’m confident she’ll be ready, but not sure I’ll be. I know what I need to do, but I also know there’s a good chance I’ll find some excuse to avoid it again. Most likely, I’ll tell myself I’m spending too much time on Whimsy Chick, and that I need to stop and spend time cleaning or whatever. I think I need to find some motivational quotes to post up all around my house right now. You know, as reminders. If you know a good one that might help, lemme know!
Now that I’m feeling guilty about spending 15 minutes writing on my blog, I guess it’s time to grab some lunch while I sort through the rest of the mail.
Kerrie: Let me know when your URL changes. You’re fun to keep up with. “Take-n-bake pizza”!!!! Have fun in FLORIDA!!!!!
Here’s a quote from a book I just read. As my eyes flew over this sentence, I had to stop, go back and read it again, bookmark it, and I’ve been thinking about ever since. Now, after all that build up, here you go:
“I felt like a clever man who knew how to get out of a hole that a wise man never would have gotten into in the first place.”
Michael, I don’t see my URL changing for the blog anytime soon. The website I talk about is the one for my online shop, which, has been in the making for 2+ years now. Ugh. And the Florida trip was last week. But it was fun, so thanks. ![]()
Oz, I knew I could count on you for a great quote. What book did you read?
It’s actually from a parenting book called Between Parent and Child by Dr. Haim G. Ginott. A lot of parenting food for though in that book. The quote, however, had made me think about my life in general as opposed to my parenting. Most of the parenting stuff in the book is directed towards children older than Ella–i.e. those who can talk and interact verbally. But that’s just around the corner!
How about…
Living is
a thing you do
now or never -
which do you?
-Piet Hein
or…
“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.”
-Jack London
And since we’re on the subject of quotes, I thought you might like this one…
“The trick is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams. Because, if you can do that, you can do anything.”
-Robert Frost
I Came across your blog today and really enjoyed reading it! You sound alot like me! I am constantly getting side tracked (I am suppose to be packing right now, doh!)
Best of luck!

Oz, I can’t believe my boys are going to be eight years old next month, so yes, talking is right around the corner!
Fyse, three great ones. Thanks! I’m sticky-noting all of them and sticking them up around my studio.
MM, welcome! I love having a group of blogger friends, so I hope you stick around and become part of what I consider my little blogging neighborhood. ![]()
My office calendar has a bunch of great ones. The first one I think is from last month…
“The early worm is for the birds.”
(with a picture of 2 robins with a worm in their beaks titled “Do it later” )
or…
“Hard work never killed anybody, but it is illegal in some places.” (with a photo of Paris titled “Effort”)
and one of my favorites…
“Madness does not always howl. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “Hey, is there room in your head for one more?” ”
So remember….
“When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it’s really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you’re pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it’s death by meteor”
It’s the spark of an idea that hits me unexpectedly. It’s the silly wonderings I have after a whirlwind of thoughts. It’s about creativity, inspiration, and imagination. But sometimes, it’s just about eating noodles.
