Practically imperfect in every way. Start with a lot of silliness. Mix in some insecurities and a handful of awkwardness. Add a pound of naivety, innocence, and child-like wonderings. Blend well. Half-bake and top off with a sprinkle of imagination and dollop of dreams. It’s the recipe for me!

"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps. And I believe that our education like, such as South Africa, and, the Iraq, everywhere like such as. And I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., or should help South Africa, and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our children."

My sister’s Post Wedding Celebration was on Saturday. As a kid, I never really cared about seeing my relatives, but as an adult, I find I really enjoy catching up with everyone. This is the first time we’ve all gotten together since the last family wedding three years ago. Three years is a long time to see family.
Almost everyone came to the wedding, despite living outside of Michigan. I was most excited to see my four little cousins, all of whom tower over me. It was a new experience to see them all drinking though. And dating. They’re all in their early to mid twenties, so of course they’d be drinking and dating. That knowledge didn’t make it any less weird though.
Spending time with them reminded me a little of going to DCon. Since I don’t really have any close friends, movies and shopping and dinners are all done with some combination of Rob, my boys, my parents, and occasionally, my sister. That’s it. So it’s kinda nice to spend a little time with extended family or long distance friends every once in a while. I’m a bit sad I won’t be going to DCon this year, but seeing my extended family makes up for that just a little.
Wait, you have cousins that tower over you? I thought you were the amazon in your family. I’ve seen the proof.
I’m not that tall! I’m 5′7″ which is average-ish. I am an amazon compared to my parents and sister. I’m only slightly taller than Rob, but the boys will be very tall when they’re fully grown.
My little cousins are giants. When I hugged the youngest (who is 21), my arms were around his waist, and my head reached his chest. I used to carry that kid around! I imagine that’s how it will feel someday when I have to reach up to hug my boys.
My in-laws are all under 5′4″ (male and female) so I always feel like a towering giant in munchkin land too!
It’s the spark of an idea that hits me unexpectedly. It’s the silly wonderings I have after a whirlwind of thoughts. It’s about creativity, inspiration, and imagination. But sometimes, it’s just about eating noodles.
