about me

Practically imperfect in every way. Start with a lot of silliness. Mix in some insecurities and a handful of awkwardness. Add a pound of naivety, innocence, and child-like wonderings. Blend well. Half-bake and top off with a sprinkle of imagination and dollop of dreams. It’s the recipe for me!

quote of the day

  • "Moral of the story: Do not look at the gap. The gap is the mind-killer. Remember how Wile E. Coyote never fell down until he saw the chasm? It’s just like that." --Taylor "Tei" Lindstrom, Rogue Ink

dumbass quote

  • "I think we have come to find out that the Education system, run by Liberal Hippies that really couldn't find any other job that allowed them so much time off, the ability to do drugs, and to spout their rhetoric is alive and well. It is teaching out kids things like 'Abortion is Good,' 'Government is Bad.' We have educators that, for the most part, don't teach to the subject, they teach to their beliefs. It is really sad, and even sadder when you see highly intelligent children buying into it." --Kelli

Dusting the Cobwebs

July 14, 2008

So? Hi!

I think this latest hiatus from my blog is my longest one yet. But I’ll be back in the swing of things in no time. So what’s new? I’ll give you the highlights.

Baseball
The weather was miserable. We were often in our winter coats during the games. (Hard to believe I wore a knee length down coat in June!) If it wasn’t cold, it was raining. Our team won the championship though. With baseball over, the boys have returned to swimming lessons again.

Birthday
The boys turned ten in June. They’ve never had a party, so this year we went a little crazy. We had over 70 people at one point. It was a birthday carnival, and the weather was perfect.

Business
My biz is doing very well, but it’s also been taking up a lot of my time. I don’t mind it though. I’m learning a lot. I’m learning I’m not as self-motivated as I pretend to be. I’m learning to plan ahead better. (Though I still keep running out of supplies between shipments.) So far, I’ve sent jewelry to the U.S., Canada, the Cayman Islands, and Ireland. Go, me!

Game
A friend introduced me to a new game (online) to replace the old defunct game I used to play (online). It’s very, very cool and has a lot of features that would have made the old game a better experience for me. I’m tempted to say this new game is even better than the old one, but I’m being cautious for now.

Home
Like always, we’ve been working around the house this summer. I built a raised garden and we’ll have tomatoes and cucumbers soon. We painted the dining room. (We means I picked the colors and Rob painted.) I got some new curtains, artwork, and furniture. Ooh, and a nifty little fountain for my patio. I’m still working on a way to hang my hammock/swing on the front porch.

Misc
I’ve been teaching myself some chords on the guitar. I finally solved the Rubik’s Cube. Power napping is good.

about this blog

It’s the spark of an idea that hits me unexpectedly. It’s the silly wonderings I have after a whirlwind of thoughts. It’s about creativity, inspiration, and imagination. But sometimes, it’s just about eating noodles.
